I opened a few of the SVGs in Inkscape, the grid is just an object. How can I remove this background so that the image is fully transparent? I'm using Inkscape. #HOW TO REMOVE BACKGROUND IN INKSCAPE PDF#
Trying to convert a pdf file into a file with transparent background. It should be simple to create a transparent png file and simple to import it still transparent. Clearly InkScape has a problem in this area which needs addressing. The same bug does not appear with stars, or squares, just circles when rendered for printing. The same circle outside the printed page does not cause a problem. I can also reproduce it when moving a circle into the printed zone or back out. By moving objects to various layers, and then hiding or showing layers, I can make the bug appear and go away. I have tracked this problem down It appears to be a bug in the rendering of shapes made with the make a circle tool. After going over a few things about default settings and changing background colors, hopefully you can now create graphics with transparent backgrounds. Inkscape also notes that the transparency will only be used for exporting, not editing. Now you can choose a specific background color and change the Alpha channel to adjust transparency. If you create your PNG this way, you will indeed end up with a solid white, non-transparent background. This is not the case, because that white background is actually completely transparent by default. You have that choice, you can create a new default template, or make a new one with the colored background and use it only when you want that color canvas.Īnother example is that some people want that standard checkerboard canvas, and you can make your own template for that too. When you start a new Inkscape document, it may look like the background is simply solid white. I think that what Lazur above told you works for your current canvas, but it won't change the color each time. And, if you get stumped, come back and let us know where you get stumped.

You can search the posts on this site, use something like 'change default template', to find specifics of which inkscape file to update, how to find it in the inkscape prgm, etc. You can change all sorts of stuff on any of your templates, the size of your canvas, the shading/border, pixels or inches, # of layers upon opening, size, zoom, and more. Or, you can change the default template and it will open with the colored background each time. You can change a whole bunch of stuff, including the canvas color by making a new template, then save it.
